road trip

Yesterday we took a little road trip to the quaint little village of Stokers Siding home of my ma and pa and of Mae. It was a delight to meet the girls behind the whimsical brand of Mae ~ Peta, Emily and Bec (the third musketeer who is honeymooning) are the names behind Mae.

Mae’s delightful fabric wall stickers are designed with children in mind and are more than happy to be moved around - and scrunched up, smoothed out and rearranged again and again. They don’t mind a shower here and there either, after being rough housed by those precious yet impossibly grubby little ones. As well as being quite good looking (a bit modest don't you think), fun and unique, Mae is always doing her best to be kind to the environment, always supporting local Australian businesses. Mae uses ‘eco’ inks and recycled cardboard packaging, not to mention our stickers are reusable and with proper care (and even a bit of improper care) will last for years to come.

During our visit we were lucky enough to have a peek at their brand new product ~ Mae wrapping paper! Breathtakingly beautiful ~ I was in paper heaven. Emily had created the most beautiful wrapped presents - secretly I wanted to pack the empty boxes into my car and take them with me. My mind was having the good cop bad cop conversation "Now think clearly Nikki think of what our lovely customers would like it's not all about you you know"! Of course we had to have all of it because we know you will all love it and how can you stop at one or two beautiful pieces? Okay so two posts in one day - yes unheard of from me but I just had to share this with you.

I found this blog today through an amazing amazing designer ~ Emma from Emma Kate Creative. The moment I fell upon Emma's site I fell instantly in love with her cards, her prints and her words.

Some of my favourite prints ...

Emma has created a project called "Emma Kate Heart" where for every card sold she will leave a card in a random place for an unsuspecting stranger to pick up and cherish ~ the ripple effect. To read more have a look at "The Emma Kate Heart". Kindness at its best.

After discovering Emma Kate Creations I followed a link to another blog Beautiful You by Julie Parker. Julie has created a positive and inpirational space through her blog. It has certainly brightened my day ~ I hope it brightens yours.

10 things you didn't know about me

Thank you to Melli from Melli's Designs for tagging me in a fun game "10 things you didn't know about me" and then I need to tag 5 other bloggers .... so here goes

1. I was born in Newcastle but spent the majority of my childhood hopping to various different locations as my Dad was a Psychiatric Nurse.


2. I am married to a wonderful man and we have 3 beautiful children aged 14, 9 and 3.


3. As well as my love Paper Scissors Rock Stationery I work as a Family Lawyer on the lovely Far North Coast of NSW.


4. I am secretly in love with Matt Damon oh and Simon Baker (I invite myself to a girlfriends house whenever he is in town just so I can maybe just maybe bump into him - haven't been so lucky!)


5. I love weekends by the beach on Byron Bay with my family.
   
6. My pet hate is dishonesty.
   
7. I have never travelled overseas and don't really have a desire to.


8. In the 80's I had BIG hair and was addicted to WHAM (yep it's true).


9. I believe that there is some sort of being after death.


10. I could not survive this caotic lifestyle with my supportive family and Simone.
